Maddock Road Water Line — City of North Ridgeville

The City of North Ridgeville selected KS Associates to design a new waterline on Maddock Road from Sugar Ridge Road to the north side of the Ohio Turnpike. The waterline was needed to provide an important connection between Sugar Ridge Road and Center Ridge Road. KS Associates prepared plans, specifications and an opinion of probable construction costs for the project, which included 1,400 lineal feet (L.F.) of 8-inch ductile iron waterline waterline and a cased bore under CSX. KS was responsible for obtaining permits from CSX to construct the crossing.

KS Associates performed customary bidding services for the Owner including distributing bid documents, issuing addenda, and attending the bid opening. The low bidder came in at $104,037, which was 10% below the Engineer’s Estimate.

The City of North Ridgeville requested that KS provide construction administration services and a full-time resident project representative (RPR) for the construction phase of the project. Construction started in December 1989 and was substantially complete March 1990. KS held monthly progress meetings with the contractor and the owner, processed pay estimates, and reviewed certified payroll.
