KS Associates' civil design team played a key role in the renovation and expansion of the Avon Lake Memorial Stadium, home of the Avon Lake Shoremen and Shoregirls. Originally constructed more than 20 years ago, the stadium was in dire need of expansion and repair.

Site design services included preparing site, utility and grading plans for the grandstand, including new seating, locker rooms, a press box and restrooms. The design called for replacing the stadium’s grass-surface playing field with an all-purpose synthetic turf, and a new synthetic track in the "D" areas (ends of the field) for track and field events. The design also provided drainage solutions for the track and field.

One site challenge involved limited handicap accessibility to to the locker rooms beneath the stands. KS's site plan called for re-grading the area and installing handicap-accessible routes in compliance with ADA requirements.

KS also performed a boundary and topographic survey of the stadium – just one of several surveys conducted for the School Board as part of a larger schools modernization program. KS surveyed not only the stadium, but also the high school (58 acres), 5 elementary schools (90 acres), a bus garage and a maintenance facility.
