Cedar Point Center at Bowling Green State University Firelands Campus — Huron Township, Ohio

Cedar Point Center is a 30,000-square-foot academic building that houses state-of-the-art classrooms and provides space for on-site professional workshops for local businesses. The facility also houses a 450-seat divisible public meeting room, five small conference rooms, and distance learning rooms.
The project architect teamed with KS Associates to provide surveying and site design services. KS Associates provided a site design that coexists with and complements the arboretum adjacent to the new building. The project also included the design of a parking lot, sanitary sewer and stormwater management facility.
KS Associates solved a grading challenge by designing a site to include a wet basin that served multiple purposes: to provide fill for the site, to provide an aesthetic pond feature, and to provide irrigation water for the arboretum. |
A unique aspect of this $4.5 million project was designing the pump station to accommodate large flow rate changes due to Cedar Point Amusement Park’s seasonal conditions. |
