KS Associates has teamed with Donatos Pizzeria Corporation to design site plans for new restaurants in Avon Lake, Amherst, North Ridgeville and Rocky River. The challenge of these assignments was to understand the local requirements of the various jurisdictions while adhering to the Owner’s requirements.

KS Associates began by studying the prototype buildings and understanding the traffic flow characteristics needed to accommodate both drive-thru and eat-in guests. Donatos’ restaurants are located in high-traffic areas and therefore studies of ingress/egress, turning movements and traffic volumes are essential in providing for safe and efficient vehicular traffic.

As communities and locations are selected for new restaurants, KS Associates contacts the local decision-makers and obtains all statutory information about the approvals process. Public utility companies are also contacted to obtain information about the cost and availability of services for the restaurant. KS Associates works with the owner’s architect to develop a preliminary site plan that complies with the local requirements, and represents the client at public meetings.
