Martin’s Run at Morningside Adult Active Community — Lorain, Ohio
Morningside is an active adult community encompassing 81 acres, five of which are wetlands. It is located within Martin’s Run, a 529-acre planned community covering a wooded and farmland area in Lorain, Ohio.
Morningside consists of four unit styles: · The Manors – 35 single-family homes · The Gardens – Single-family homes on smaller lots · The Cottages – Paired villa homes · The Residence – 24-unit buildings with underground parking. In addition to a park-like setting, the site design incorporates bike paths, walking paths and outdoor recreation areas as part of the overall atmosphere.
The pond in front of The Club — the center of activity at Morningside — incorporates EPA regulated stormwater management requirements while providing an aesthetic feature. Located adjacent to the Lorain County Metro Parks, the project required extensive coordination due to the presence of wetlands and to obtain local and governmental approvals. |
Morningside at Martin’s Run was a winning entry in the Best of Seniors Housing awards program, sponsored by the Seniors Housing Council of the National Association of Home Builders. The competition recognizes the best and most successful seniors projects in the country.
