Elyria Catholic High School CAD Students Get First-Hand Look at Engineering
May 2 , 2007 - Fourteen students from Elyria Catholic High School (ECHS) recently got a real-world perspective on careers in Computer-Aided Design (CAD). Juniors and Seniors enrolled in ECHS's CAD program took a class trip to KS Associates where they viewed demonstrations on projects that are currently underway in the area.
Students were introduced to CAD Technicians within the firm’s Survey, Transportation and Land Development Groups who showed them what it is like working as a CAD professional on roadway and land development projects. They also viewed a demonstration of field survey equipment used by surveyors to gather data that is later imported into CAD programs.
Students were accompanied by Ralph Jaworski, a teacher at ECHS for more than five years. Jaworski has taught CAD classes for more than three years. This is the second time that ECHS CAD students have visited KS Associates.
