First Lighthouse Village Retailer Opens for Business

October 5, 2006 - KS Associates had the honor of attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of a new Kohl's store in Lorain, Ohio. This is the first anchor to open for business at Lighthouse Village — a 500,000-square-foot development project for which KS Associates provided site planning, design and consulting services.

KS Associates has been working closely with Liberty Development since the project's conception. According to Tom Kuluris, president of Liberty Development Company, "From the start, we knew we were working with the right team when we selected KS Associates. Their knowledge of site design issues helped make this project a success."

Lighthouse Village is Liberty Development Company's largest retail project to date. In addition to the new Kohl's store, the shopping center will include a Home Depot and a third anchor tenant to be announced. The center is located at the intersection of Leavitt Road (SR-58) and Jaeger Road, adjacent to Martin's Run. Martin's Run is a multi-million-dollar, 529-acre housing development, for which KS Associates' Land Development team also provided site planning and design services.

The Lorain Kohl's store is one of only 35 "Innovation Stores" in the country and the only one of its kind in Northern Ohio. Innovation stores have fewer square feet and feature updated visual elements for a more upscale shopping experience.
