KS Now Pre-Qualified by ODOT to Provide Construction Administration Services

September 24, 2014 – KS Associates, Inc. has become pre-qualified by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to provide Construction Administration Services. This pre-qualification enables KS Associates to enter into contracts with ODOT and Local Public Agencies (LPAs) to provide oversight of certain state and federally funded transportation construction projects.

The primary role of a construction administrator is to serve as an on-site project representative, directing and overseeing all parties in following standard construction practices and procedures. The construction administrator helps to assure the contractor’s compliance with engineering plans and specifications to ultimately keep projects on schedule and to control costs.

According to Lynn S. Miggins, P.E., President of KS Associates, “Our firm has an extensive list of professional engineering services for which it is pre-qualified by ODOT. The addition of Construction Administration Services allows us to provide yet another valuable service to our clients. And, as a DBE firm, KS Associates can help clients fulfill DBE goals for projects that require this pre-qualification.”

KS Associates’ current ODOT pre-qualifications include: Complex and Non-Complex Roadway Design, Bicycle Facilities Enhancement Design, Interchange Justification/Modification Study, Safety Study, Right of Way Plan Development, Bridge Design Level 1 and Level 2, Major and Minor Bridge Inspection, Basic Traffic Signal Design, Limited Highway Lighting Design, Environmental Document Preparation (CE), Cost Accounting System Unlimited, and now Construction Administration.

KS Associates is currently providing construction administration services for several local transportation projects. The firm is serving as Resident Project Representative for the City of Lorain’s $4.7 million Jaeger Road Improvement Project, is overseeing the rehabilitation of 14 bridges in Fulton and Lucas Counties for the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, and is administering construction for the City of Vermilion’s 2013 Road Improvement Project. Recently completed construction administration projects include the City of Avon’s Riegelsberger Road Bridge, a $986,700 Design-Build project, and the $4.4 million LOR-611-5.66 Colorado Avenue Reconstruction Project in the Village of Sheffield for the Lorain County Engineer’s Office.
