January 20, 2006 – KS Associates’ “Walking in Our Clients Shoes” direct marketing campaign was selected as one of 100 projects featured in Outstanding A/E Marketing Campaigns, 2nd Edition, a book published by marketing consulting firm ZweigWhite. The book is a collection of real-world marketing tactics at work in architectural and design firms today. The book provides a single collection of innovative direct marketing campaigns of all types that design firms have used to build name recognition, win jobs and get results.
KS Associates’ campaign was one of eight projects featured in the “Tying it All Together” chapter. The chapter profiles projects that used a variety of means for getting the marketing message out, and creating a consistent and regular flow of information to the target audience.
The “Walking in our Clients Shoes” campaign was designed to spread the good news when the firm won two awards for sales and employment growth. “Rather than simply sending press releases to industry publications in hopes that the news would reach our target audience, we decided to so something different,” said KS Associates Marketing Director Kathy Bast. “We turned the news around to focus on clients, thanking them for helping the firm achieve its success.”
The campaign consisted of a direct-mail thank-you card sent to clients, news releases issued to the media, and a display advertisement placed in Inside Business, the publication that sponsored one of the awards. The news was picked up in several trade publications. In addition, the firm received positive feedback from clients, a number of whom called the firm to chat about how much they liked the card.
