February 15, 2011 – Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio (PLSO) is an organization formed to educate the public about surveying services and to present a unified voice for the surveying profession. In February, PLSO members and industry professionals assembled for the 2011 PLSO Annual Conference. This three-day event was hosted by the PLSO Cleveland Chapter and was held at the InterContinental Hotel and Conference Center at the Cleveland Clinic.

Among the presenters was KS Associates’ Director of Surveying Services Mark A. Yeager, P.S. Yeager delivered an informative and insightful presentation entitled, “Implementing Safety in Surveying.” He addressed the importance of developing and maintaining a safety-oriented culture; discussed ethical, legal and financial issues associated with safe surveying; and offered suggestions for developing a comprehensive Safety Program to ensure the safety of workers, clients and the public.

“KS recognizes that our people are our number one asset, and working hard to keep them out of harm’s way is a top priority,” Yeager explained. “KS has a robust and effective Safety Program, and we’re glad we had the opportunity to share lessons learned with fellow surveyors and industry professionals.”

Yeager is a Professional Surveyor licensed in Ohio with more than 30 years of surveying experience. He leads the Survey Group at KS Associates, which is consistently recognized for maintaining an excellent safety record, and whose safety program was recently featured in a national surveying publication (See: Risky Business, December 2010 POB Magazine.)
