To widen the third lane of the Ohio Turnpike, pier foundations of the Angling Road Bridge needed to be relocated and the five-span bridge needed to be replaced with a new four-span bridge. KS Associates was selected as lead consultant to provide engineering services for the bridge replacement and roadway project.
The new bridge was constructed on the existing horizontal and vertical alignments of Angling Road. The project included reconstruction of 800 feet of roadway (including the bridge length), resurfacing of 50 feet of roadway, grading, drainage, guardrail, reconstruction of drives, and demolition and removal of the existing bridge. KS Associates designed and prepared construction plans according to AASHTO and OTC standards for the replacement structure, which consisted of a 232 foot, four-span continuous steel beam structure. |
KS Associates provided design services, prepared construction plans and shop drawings, and performed the surveying for this bridge replacment project.
