KS Associates is providing engineering services for the resurfacing of 10.82 miles of U.S. 20, a divided four-lane highway. The project involves removing and replacing 8” of asphalt, the entire drainage system, and crack and seating approximately 14 lane-miles of reinforced concrete pavement.

KS is on a Design-Build team with Kokosing Construction Company for this $12 million project. KS’s preliminary design included an innovate approach to maintaining traffic without the use of concrete barrier, which helped to significantly reduced Kokosing’s bid.

The project is has four Buildable Units (BUs). BU-2, the first three-miles of the project, was on an accelerated schedule and is complete. BU-4, the installation of guardrail, is also complete. The remaining BUs are scheduled to be completed in 2013.

KS also provided a topographic survey of the entire project length.
